On December 1, the U.S. House Education and Workforce Committee Chairwoman, introduced the Promoting Real Opportunity, Success and Prosperity through Education Reform (PROSPER) Act, to reauthorization the Higher Education Act of 1965. While some parts of the bill offer welcome improvements on TRIO, other parts - if enacted into law - would eliminate TRIO as we know it. This webinar will provide an overview of the TRIO section of the legislation, outline the steps in the reauthorization process, and discuss next steps that TRIO advocates should take to defend the interests of TRIO students and programs.
